This, is American Idol

Disney announced yesterday a new American Idol show for the Disney's Hollywood Studios. People get to audition and those chosen get to perform in front of judges and an audience that gets to vote for there favorite. I really feel this will be the perfect addition to the park for a number of reasons.

This is the perfect mix of television and music for a park who wishes to bring guests into the world of movies, tv and music.

This fits in great to the whole "Year of a Million Dreams" theme, people watch Ameican Idol and think about trying out and being on the show and can now live that out in WDW.

When the studios opened this section of the park was home to Superstar Television, an attraction where park goers were green screened into their favorite TV shows. This American Idol attraction sounds like a modern take on the old Superstar Television idea.

American Idol has been the most popular show on television for YEARS. A lot of people are drawing up comparisons to the old millionaire attraction, but millionaire was popular but not for nearly as long as American Idol.

This probalby won't be very expensive to build and if advertised on American Idol itself will draw loads of people to DHS.

Even for the people hating on this attraction, HEY its better then an empty building.
